WHERE DO BAREFOOT FLOORS SERVICE?
Barefoot Floors services areas from as far north as Cairns, down through the Wide bay region, and all the way down to Hervey Bay and even Brisbane. Check out a full list of serviced areas HERE.  If you cannot find your area on our list, please contact us via the enquiry form and we can set you up with an applicator in your area.
IS TILE INJECTION EXPENSIVE?
Tile Injection can save you hundreds or even thousands on ripping up and replacing your existing tiles. Often, when a handful of tiles are affected, it can mean many more are in waiting to come loose or become hollow underneath. The cost of hiring a tiler to rip up the floor and re-tile can be huge! Not to mention the mess of having your tiles torn off and all the residual glue sanded off.

Because tile injection does not require tiles to be removed, all it takes is a quick, mess-free 'injection' process and your tiles will be re-bonded and good as new!
HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE I CAN WALK ON MY FLOOR AGAIN?
In most cases, treated tiles are ready to walk on again within 2-4 hours! And no huge mess to clean up either!
WILL I NEED TO BOOK A HOLIDAY FROM MY HOME WHILST MY DRUMMY OR LOOSE TILES ARE BEING FIXED?
No! Tile Injection can take place with minimal disruption to your daily life- no dust, no mess, no loud noises-just go about your business!
HOW LONG WILL THE TILE INJECTION ADHESIVE LAST?
We have a 7 year minimum guarantee on all treated tiles, however if you look at the photos below it becomes pretty clear that once injected, these tiles aren't going anywhere! This previously loose tile shattered into pieces rather than lift up, just one week after being treated.
WHAT IS TILE INJECTION EXACTLY?
Barefoot floors uses a waterborne, fine particle, pure acrylic adhesive emulsion to reset and strengthen your tile's foundation. When set as an adhesive film joining delaminated substrates, the bond becomes strong with a degree of flexibility.

Our tile injection solution is designed to be injected at low pressure to form a bonding adhesive layer. The liquid is injected via small holes drilled in the grout joints until all voids are filled, leaving you with a solid yet flexible foundation for your tiles, meaning your tiles will stay strong for years to come without any further risk of tenting,  cracking or loosening.

This means cheaper, less messy, stronger tiles without the need to rip them all up and start from scratch!
WHAT IS TILE TENTING?
Tile tenting is when structural pressure forces two tiles to push against one another, which causes the grout line to buckle and the tiles 'pop' upwards in a a tent shape. Tenting can be very dangerous when left untreated.
WHAT CAUSES LOOSE TILES?
Loose tiles can be caused by a number of factors, including:
- Poor tile adhesive application or coverage on the tile
-Tile adhesive glue had set prematurely before application to the tile
-Issues with the substrate (warping, expansion, cracking etc)
- Tiles laid with no expansion joints-this causes pressure to form and tiles can come loose.
-Time. Tile glue deteriorates over time and can crumble.
WHAT CAUSES TILES TO SOUND 'DRUMMY'?
Tiles can become drummy when the tile adhesive is applied incorrectly, meaning that there is an expanse of air trapped under the tile or a void in the glue, meaning the tile is not 100% attached to the substrate. This can cause a 'thunk' noise whenever  tiles are stepped on or tapped.
WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX LOOSE TILES?
Loose tiles can be fixed quickly and easily with Barefoot Floors tile injection application. This application causes no disturbance to the household, restores your tiles to their former strength and feel, and is complete all within the same day- you can walk on them again within a few hours!
WHAT IF MY TILES ARE CRACKED OR BROKEN?
If any tiles are broken, we can remove the tile in question and replace it with another tile from the area. In order to avoid unsightly gaps in the tiles, we will take a tile from an area unseen (such as under a cabinet or cupboard). This means you do not have to go to the trouble of finding a tile of similar colouring and paying extra to get a whole box of tiles. Our tile injection expert will fill all grout lines and re-lay the individual tile to be good as new!
How do I know a tile is drummy?
To test a tile to see if it is coming loose or has poor adhesion to the substrate, all you need to do is gently tap the tile in the middle of the tile. If you hear a loud, hollow sound the tile is drummy. If you only hear a soft thud noise, it means the tile is solid.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF TILE INJECTION?
Our tile injection system is quick and easy and makes a huge difference to your floor and your back pocket!
First we inspect the tiles to identify which tiles are drummy or loose. Once these are identified we drill holes in the grout lines of each tile to identify the problem areas. We then 'inject' the tile with our special tile injection adhesive which seeks out and fills voids under the tile. Once this sets, the tile is solid and ready to be walked on again!
WILL THE TILE INJECTION PROCESS MAKE A MESS?
Tile injection is extremely clean and involves very little dust, meaning you can stay in your home whilst the process is completed, without needing to cover any furniture or protect your lungs.
HOW LONG WILL THE PROCESS TAKE?
Depending on the size of the affected area, most tile injection jobs are completed within a day, sometimes even less! All tile injection jobs are ready to walk on again the same day! The quick setting adhesive we use is brilliant and finding the problem areas and restoring your tile's solid foundation again in no time.
HOW DO WE FIX TENTED TILES?
The quickest solution for tented tiles is to install an expansion joint in your floor to relieve the built up pressure on your tiles due to shifts in the foundation. Once the expansion joint is installed, we will remove the grout from the affected tiles and re-grout to have your tiles flat and good as new again!
How long does tile injection last?
Our tile injection system guarantees strong, solid tiles for 7 years after application-at the very least! We have tested tiles over 10 years old and they are still as rock solid as the day they were injected!
